Will spouses of irish nationals who are not permitted to travel to other parts of europe freely ( without visa ) be able to now travel in europe with out visa?
The Lisbon Treaty does not change the current rules and laws surrounding the non EU citizen spouses and family member of Irish citizens.
Currently, as you may know, spouses of EU citizens should be able to travel freely within the EU on the production of a passport, however, many EU member states still require a visa to be produced. EU member states are obliged to provide a visa without delay or formality.
