The Indect Project also known as "Intelligent information system supporting observation, searching and detection for security of citizens in urban environment"
European Union has spent about 11 milions € to literaly spy on us. Makers of this ambicious projects say that people with "normal behaviour" has no reason to be afraid of this project. BUT who will decide, what is so called normal behaviour. Our behaviour will be spyed even on The Interner (actualy, we are already monitored on The Internet).
My question is, why this so called democratic EU looks at us as on a criminals? They intimidating us by a threat from Terrorist, extremist and many other dangers. But there is 100000% bigger chance that we will be killed by car or something for godnessake. If we will live in fear, we will agree on everything for our "safety". I ask you and the EU politicians, where are we heading by this?

I live in post-communistic country(Slovakia - central Europe, next to Czech Republic) so freedom is above anything else for me. That is why I do not want this project to be fully initiated.

more "official" and "great info" from our "democratic" goverment about this project on http://www.indect-project.eu/

What?

This sounds like you believe in some sort of organised, centralised conspiracy to spy on everyone.

What good would that do? Seriously, what would be the point? Or as they say to kids with Aspergers - ' is it likely?'

No, I don´t believe in some crazy conspiracies. I just work with facts. EU will be centralized by the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty.
And do you think that EU will not "spy on us" when the project will be operational? Even now, for example some ISP´s are selling informations about their clients to other companies, so they can study their behaviour, make them more voulnerable to those silly advertisments in TV ( ) etc. And I hate TV advertisments.

What good would that do? Nothing, just EU will have more information about how the nations and presons of EU behave and they will punish the "not-normal" behaviour. As I said, this "not-normal" behaviour is not defined. And what is not defined may be later defined in another way that we wouldn´t like to.

Note that the web page of indect project is official

P.S. Who are the kisd with Aspergers?

Seems all very 1984.

Quote from the Daily Telegraph - http://url.ie/2m0n

A [European Union funded] five-year research programme, called Project Indect, aims to develop computer programmes which act as “agents” to monitor and process information from web sites, discussion forums, file servers, peer-to-peer networks and even individual computers. (...)

[Another EU-funded research project called Adabts, short for Automatic Detection of Abnormal Behaviour and Threats in crowded Spaces] is seeking to develop models of “suspicious behaviour” so these can be automatically detected using CCTV and other surveillance methods. The system would analyse the pitch of people’s voices, the way their bodies move and track individuals within crowds.

Its main objectives include the “automatic detection of threats and abnormal behaviour or violence”.

Any results of this EU funded scheme will need democratic transparency and over sight. Also its uses and proposed implementation should be publicly scrutinised.
