has anybody here read the actual treaty?
has anybody read and understood the actual treaty?
does anybody actually believe it's possible for an ordinary person to sufficiently understand legal language?
the bottom line is: we are left at the mercy of legalists to tell us what the treaty really means and both sides of argument eagerly present legal experts who arduously defend ... well both sides of the argument.
the articles of the treaty are made to be so intricate and complex as to make sure that a number of interpretations is possible - so that the most comfortable one can be chosen when necessary.
all in all the whole referendum business is an exercise in futility - people are let to believe the mean something and have some bearing on the decision making process.
we can't give an answer if we don't even hear the question, we can make no decision on a matter that's completely alien to us.
it's like asking a bunch of monkeys to pound on a keyboard until they manage to produce an encyclopedia entry.
ask you councillor if he/she read the treaty and know what's it all about. the chances are - they know just as much a you do.
it's a compromised system led by a compromised elite.
